Looking Great For Summer That Won’t Break The Bank.
With summer just around the corner, it is time to tune up your body and wardrobe so that you will look absolutely stunning as you relax on the beach or by the pool. Those with a gym membership will already have a head start, provided that they are actually going regularly. If you haven’t joined, it probably means that you would be wasting your money to rush and join one now. All is not lost as there are other strategies to help you.
Think about your daily routine and how you can incorporate exercise into. Those who work in offices should stop using the lift and use the stairs instead. To get into a routine, just use the down stairs to start with. As you get used to that, start leaving the lift one floor early to walk up, increasing to two floors and so on. If you work on the ground floor, then try getting off your bus one stop earlier and walking the rest of the way and do the same on the way home. Tube travellers have more of a problem but try using the down stairs for a while before attempting the often long and steep stairs up. This strategy will takes longer so be prepared to start out earlier to give yourself enough time to get to work. It is easy to fall back into bad habits.
Another strategy is when you are carrying your shopping, lift your arms out in front of you, hold then slowly drop them. Repeat this with your arms out to the side. It would be beneficial if you had roughly equal weight in each hand. You may get strange looks now but you will be getting admiring looks later.
Everybody does incredible work on their body but often overlooks their face, except for the rich who just run for the plastic surgeon, throw thousands of pounds at them and hide from the world until the scars and bruising has died down. For us normal people we have a way that is even better. Facial exercises, that’s what. Not just any facial exercises, isometric, they are the ones that will really take the years off and really improve the facial muscle definition and skin tone to smooth out the wrinkles and any sagging skin. Most young people dismiss facial exercises as being just for old people but the smart ones are doing it because they know that they are going to keep those youthful looks far longer than their friends.
Whilst on the face, don’t forget to use sun blocker. Yes we all love a good tan but too much too soon is not good for your skin. At best your face will age quicker at worst you run the risk of skin cancer. This doesn’t mean you have to spend the days under a parasol, it just means to be careful. Remember your face is in the sun even when you are not sunbathing.
With the coming of the sun, so the toes start to make an appearance as sandals, open toed shoes and flip flops start being bought out of the closet. After a winter stuffed into boots they need some care and attention. If your budget will run to it, your local beauty salon will be able to give you a fine pedicure but you can do your own. Get your stuff together and do it whilst watching a movie so it won’t seem such a chore.
Dieting is something that people always rush into when thinking about their summer holiday but it may be too late to start in May because what you do not want to do is to starve your body of health giving vitamins that will help your skin to tan. What you can do is to cut down on all the empty foods such as chocolate, crisps and sugary drinks and increase the healthy stuff. Foods rich in beta-carotene such as carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, spinach, broccoli, cantaloupe melons, romaine lettuce and fresh thyme will not only help in the tanning process but will also help to protect your skin from damage. Eating more fruit will also aid in increasing vitamin C levels. It is better to get your vitamins from natural sources rather than chugging down pills as the body will assimilate them easier.
Should you need convincing that you need to act now for summer, try putting on your swimsuit from last year and model it in front of your mirror. Don’t despair, you can always buy a new one. Before you rush out to the shops, check out your summer wardrobe and see what needs throwing away and what can be refreshed by adding a new top or accessories. You can also treat yourself to a couple of new pairs of sandals to complete your new look.
